WAYNE, NJ [October 26, 2016] – St. Joseph’s Healthcare System is pleased to announce Marjory Langer, MD, FACEP, has joined St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital as the new Medical Director of the Emergency Department. In this new role, Dr. Langer will provide leadership and management of the St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital Emergency Department to enhance the emergency medical services for current and expanding needs of the surrounding communities.Dr. Langer joins St. Joseph’s Healthcare System from HackensackUMC/Mountainside Hospital, where she served as Medical Director of the Emergency Department for over five years. In addition to her clinical duties at Hackensack UMC/Mountainside, Dr. Langer also served as Chairperson of the Mountainside Hospital Board of Trustees and President of the Mountainside Hospital Medical Staff.

In addition to Dr. Langer’s appointment, the St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital will utilize the St. Joseph’s Emergency Physicians Group, made up of leading emergency medicine physicians from the St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center state-designated Level II Trauma Center, to provide ongoing care and coverage at the Wayne Emergency Department.

Dr. Langer joined the medical staff at Hackensack UMC/Mountainside in 2005 and also served on the medical staff at East Orange General Hospital. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland in College Park, MD, and earned her medical degree from Tel Aviv University’s Sackler School of Medicine in Israel. Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, she completed her residency at Metropolitan Hospital in Harlem, NY, where she served as Chief Resident and rotated through other NYC neighborhood hospitals gaining invaluable experiencing in trauma and emergency medicine.
