Lancaster, PA June 16, 2017 - The Stroopie Co. is making a name for itself locally and across the United States by producing a high-quality Dutch cinnamon waffle cookie (traditionally known as the stroopwafel) and by providing meaningful employment for refugee women resettling in the local area.
The company’s entire product line will be introduced to fancy food show attendees for the first time this year, and will include feature flavors like a coconut-sprinkled, chocolate-dipped stroopie as well as a brand new organic stroopie line! “An organic stroopwafel line is exactly what the market has been asking for,” says Adrianne Stutzman, Director of Sales and Marketing. “It’s been a fun research and development process, but we are happy to announce its launch at the Fancy Food Show.” Jennie Groff, CEO of The Stroopie Co., is particularly excited about the coconut sprinkled stroopie. “It’s very delicious and it happens to be my husband’s favorite. We’re proud to introduce it to Fancy Food Show attendees!”
The company has been making stroopies since 2008 and has been growing steadily ever since. Starting with the traditional stroopie, they have expanded production to 13 stroopie flavor varieties, including a gluten-free line, in addition to the new organic line they will be releasing at the show. They also proudly gained B-Corp status in 2016, and are increasingly able to employ more refugees each year. “Our company has been exploding in the past few years, and we are poised and ready for the global market,” adds Production Manager Jonathan Groff.
