The Tricorne Dance Ensemble of Glen Rock under the direction of dance mistress Denise Piccino of Hawthorne will be dancing around the Maypole at 1:30pm and 3pm. They will also be performing a collection of 18th century dances throughout the day in which the public is invited to join them. Musical accompaniment for the dancers will be provided by Ridley and Anne Enslow on the fiddle and hammered dulcimer.
At 2:30pm in the Steuben House Deborah Powell, BCHS past president and Museum Collection Chair will be giving a talk on Treasures Through Time – The BCHS Collections, a visual tour through centuries of Bergen life via its artifacts. Also on display in the Steuben House will be a new exhibit of 4 historical paintings by B. Spencer Newman.
The Demarest House and the barn will both be open for tours throughout the day and the Campbell-Christie House will be open as well where visitors may purchase refreshments for an additional cost and visit the gift shop. Children’s crafts, lawn games, and a live demonstration of broom making will be on site as well. Behind the Campbell-Christie House the society has created and authentic out-kitchen where interpreters will be naturally dying eggs and making oliebollen, Dutch donuts.
