Valley Recognized For Best Practices in Respiratory Care

RIDGEWOOD, New Jersey – April 1, 2019 – The Valley Hospital has been recognized with the 2019-2020 American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) Apex Recognition Award for their continued best practices in respiratory care for a second consecutive time. Valley is the only hospital in Bergen County and one of sixteen organizations nationwide to receive this distinction.

“Valley is proud to be among a small elite group of organizations that have been recognized with the Apex Recognition Award,” said Audrey Meyers, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Valley Hospital and Valley Health System. “The Apex Recognition Award reflects the high-quality care our respiratory therapists and team members provide.”

The AARC Apex Recognition Award was developed in 2017 as a way for the AARC Board to recognize respiratory care departments that demonstrate high-quality care.

Valley previously received the 2017-2018 AARC Apex Recognition Award in its inaugural year. Before that, Valley was a recipient of AARC’s former Quality Respiratory Care Recognition award for fourteen consecutive years.

“As a vital component of a well-rounded health care team, respiratory therapists work hard each day to deliver quality patient care,” said Thomas Kallstrom, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, AARC. “The specialized services and skills unique to respiratory care departments provide the necessary foundation for the total patient experience.”
