OF THE NEWLY LAUNCHED NEW YORK VETERANS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Vincent DeNucci, a graduate of Berkeley College, Master of Business Administration (MBA) student and a veteran of the U.S. Army, has been appointed Acting Executive Director of the New York Veterans Chamber of Commerce (NYVCC), a newly established Chapter of the United States Veterans Chamber of Commerce.
“Vincent has the energy, enthusiasm and knowledge to create this sought-after hub of resources for veterans and veteran-owned businesses serving the New York region,” said Mark Jaffe, President of the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce, who helped lead the launch of the New York Chapter of the Veterans Chamber of Commerce.
“My ultimate goal is to design and build the Veterans Chamber of Commerce to include every veteran-owned business in New York State,” DeNucci said. “To accomplish this, the NYVCC will help members implement innovative networking techniques that allow their businesses to communicate with each other until they build networks of their own.”
New York State has the fourth highest number of veteran-owned businesses in the country, with 137,532 majority veteran-owned businesses (based on a U.S. Census Bureaus Survey of Small Business Owners, 2012.)
As Acting Executive Director DeNucci Will Champion Veteran-Owned Businesses
DeNucci said he is determined to grow the NYVCC to benefit veterans during and beyond the pandemic. By conducting networking meetings, virtual social gatherings, and in-person events that adhere to social distancing guidelines, he envisions the Chamber will comprise hundreds of members within the next year. “The New York Veterans Chamber of Commerce will be providing opportunities for veteran-owned businesses to grow as small businesses in ways they never thought possible,” DeNucci said.
As Acting Executive Director of the NYVCC, a position he assumed on October 13, 2020, DeNucci serves as a liaison for veterans in the greater population around the New York City region with small and large businesses and corporations. The 45-year-old husband and father of four served 15 years in the Army. While in the Army, DeNucci’s primary leadership role was teaching a course about how to communicate with subordinates and other junior leadership. “The training focused on small unit tactics – getting a small element of service members to complete a mission with locals overseas,” said DeNucci. Not only did DeNucci have to look at the military mission, but also the humanitarian side. “It put a human aspect to everything,” he said.
DeNucci, a resident of Toms River, NJ, graduated from Berkeley College, cum laude, earlier this year with a Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business. He expects to complete his MBA in Management degree from Berkeley College in 2021.
The NYVCC provides a range of social support and employment services that makes reintegrating into the community simpler. Acting as their champion, the NYVCC is committed to empowering men and women from the U.S. armed forces, and making sure their dreams of a fruitful life becomes real.
