Paramus -- Congressional Candidate Paul Aronsohn will be walking into Sussex County tomorrow as part of his door-to-door journey through the entire 5th Congressional District.
Aronsohn, who launched his "Walk the Walk" tour over two months ago, will complete tomorrow morning his walk through the 43 towns that comprise the Bergen and Passaic County parts of his District. His Passaic/Sussex crossing will take place in the afternoon along the West Milford/Vernon border. "Real representation begins with a real commitment to the community, and that's what this walk is all about," Aronsohn explained. "It may be old fashioned, but by going door-to-door, I have the unique opportunity to talk with and listen to the people who call the 5th District home."
"Sussex County is a great place," explained Aronsohn, who has spent a considerable amount of time in the area over the past two years. "and I am looking forward to spending the next month -- and the next several years -- working with the good people of Sussex to make our community and our country a better place."
To further demonstrate the centrality of Sussex to his bid for Congress, Aronsohn named today Sussex County Democratic Leader Howard Burrell as the Chairman of the Paul Aronsohn for Congress Campaign. Burrell, a former Sussex County Freeholder and Vietnam Era Veteran, will serve as the Campaign’s honorary leader.
“Howard Burrell is a community leader, who embodies the core American values on which this campaign is based – family, community, opportunity, and responsibility,†Aronsohn explained. “That – combined with his energy, passion and proven commitment to public service – makes him the ideal person to lead this Campaign.â€
In accepting Aronsohn's offer to chair his congressional campaign, Burrell said, "I am honored to have been asked to play a leadership role in one of our nation's top congressional races. Paul Aronsohn is a straight talking, independent thinker who will give the people of New Jersey's 5th Congressional District the real representation that we deserve."
"Sussex values of community, security, and fiscal responsibilty are Aronsohn values," Burrell explained, "and Paul's mainstream approach to governing will resonate with Democrats, Republicans, and Independent voters across the political spectrum:"
To date, Aronsohn has personally knocked on 3,802 doors during his walking tour of the District.
"My shoes are worn and my legs are little tired, but I've never felt so energized in my life," Aronsohn stated.
Following his walk through Sussex County, Aronsohn will continue his journey into Warren County.
