Bergen Community College Honors 127 Graduates with Academic Awards at Annual Ceremony

Bergen Community College recognized 127 graduates with academic awards, including 41 students who achieved academic excellence by maintaining a perfect 4.0 grade point averages.

The awards were presented at an annual ceremony in the Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre on the main campus, prior to the College’s May commencement at the Izod Center in East Rutherford.
The awards recognized 67 graduating Bergen students with commendations, including 17 honorees, who graduated with Honors and received an Honors Cord for Outstanding Service. Sixty-two of the honorees received divisional, curricular, and special achievement awards; 44 students garnered honors in the Honors Program and 25 members of the Class of 2011 were listed in Who’s Who in American Junior Colleges; and the Bergen Community College Foundation recognized 8 students with Foundation Graduation Awards.

“The graduates who received academic awards exemplify the perseverance and thirst for knowledge that Bergen’s faculty strive to instill in all students,” said Dr. G. Jeremiah Ryan, President of Bergen Community College. “I encourage the honorees to continue to strive for their goals and to use their education to make the world around them a better place.”
Many of the winners received divisional awards recognizing the most outstanding student in each of the College’s individual programs of study as nominated by their deans, department heads and professors.
The following list represents the honorees who attended the ceremony, along with their hometowns and award received (hometowns are alphabetized).
