Englewood Hospital and Medical Center Begins EMS Contract with City

Englewood Hospital and Medical Center began providing emergency medical services (EMS) to the city of Englewood as of January 1, 2012.   The daytime and weekend ambulance service supplements the city’s Volunteer Ambulance Corps that continues to cover night time calls and special events.The city’s council passed a resolution in mid-November following a review of Request for Proposals from several competing medical service providers. The two-year, no-cost contract with Englewood Hospital includes EMS coverage from 6am to 6pm weekdays and 6pm-6am Saturday and Sunday.

Gift Wrapping Project Generates over $12K for Habitat Bergen Building Effort


For the second straight year, Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County volunteers worked tirelessly, from Thanksgiving week through Christmas Eve, in a storefront at Bergen Town Center wrapping gifts for harried customers.  Amid numerous rolls of decorative paper, ribbons and bows of all colors and mountains of presents, cheerful volunteers staffed the shop each day from early morning until almost midnight.

What can young girls do to support Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County?  Bake Cookies!  Members of Girl Scout Troop 1224, under the leadership of Rena Moy-Chang, recently spent a fun afternoon baking 300 special Habitat house cookies.  Using a special sugar cookie recipe and house cookie cutters, the girls mixed, rolled and cut dough for hours.  The results were amazing and delicious.
