It's Your War, Too

[schultz:]Keep cool, Daniel Webster once said. Anger is not an argument.  Wise advice, but it sets an impossible standard if we reflect on the loss of 31 Americans in a single day in Afghanistan. Perhaps only prolonged and widespread anger will bring an end to this relentless loss of American lives.

Mr. Green Jobs Boondoggle Rides Again

Michelle Malkin
Van Jones, President Obama's disgraced green jobs czar, is back with a radical progressive plan to rescue America ... from his old boss.
The problem, posits Jones, is that his fellow community organizer in the White House hasn't spent enough, regulated enough or taxed enough to achieve their perverse version of the "American Dream." What the country needs to "get the economy back on track," according to Jones and his league of leftists, is more government-created make-work. Oh, and a hefty side of Big Labor pork.

'The Change-Up' Is a Comedic Smash

Bravo to Jason Bateman: He's two for two when it comes to hilarious, crass summer comedies this year. And a hearty "Nice recovery!" goes to Ryan Reynolds for his involvement in a certain yuck-fest, he's now leaving behind the $300 million fiasco that was "Green Lantern."

These ace actors join together in "The Change-Up," a sort of adult "Freaky Friday" in which two very different pals switch lives. That's where the similarities end between the Disney fare and this hard-R extravaganza. The men make their transmogrification after both urinate in a park fountain during a night of heavy drinking. (Guess "crossing streams" has a whole new meaning.)

Between 1950 and 1994, ocean fishermen increased their catch by 400 percent by doubling the number of boats and using more effective fishing gear, according to the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch.

Back to Big Government-Spending as Usual

Michelle Malkin
The American Age of Austerity lasted approximately three minutes, give or take a nanosecond. Immediately after the Senate approved the bipartisan "Budget Control Act of 2011" on Tuesday afternoon, President Obama hustled over to the Rose Garden -- to crow about the renewed opportunity to make "key investments."

Psst, Big News for Women

Connie Schultz
Apparently, the federal debt ceiling crisis has eclipsed big news for America's women.
Let's remedy that, please.

On Monday, the Obama administration announced that insurance companies will have to provide birth control services to women with no copayment. The new rules also eliminate the copay for other preventive health measures -- such as prenatal care, counseling and equipment for breast-feeding -- and screenings to detect HIV, gestational diabetes in pregnant women and signs of domestic violence.
