Comedian Josh Blue will visit Bergen Community College on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in The Ciccone Theatre on the College’s main campus in Paramus as part of Disability Awareness Week.
Mr. Blue has appeared at comedy clubs, theaters, college campuses and corporate events throughout the country. His stand-up routine is in a constant state of evolution and his off-the-cuff improvisational skills guarantee that no two shows are exactly alike. Mr. Blue was the first comedian to perform stand-up on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and was named “Best Winning Reality Show Guest” for his appearance on “Live with Regis and Kelly.”

Heads-up! On October 4th there will be two local meetings in the City of Stuart in Martin County, Florida, to determine the future of anchoring in Stuart and Martin County. If anchoring is part of your boating experience, you need to attend one of these meetings! Stuart and Martin County have been chosen to participate in the state’s mooring and anchoring pilot program.  As such, they will be allowed to develop an ordinance to limit anchoring near mooring fields.

U.S. Treasury Announces Four NJ Community Banks Receive $25.6 Million To Help Small Businesses Access Capital, Create New Jobs


Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced that four additional New Jersey community banks received a total of $25.6 million as part of the final wave of funding provided through the Small Business Lending Fund (SBLF). The SBLF, which was established as part of the Small Business Jobs Act that President Obama signed into law, encourages community banks to increase their lending to small businesses, helping those companies expand their operations and create new jobs.

Former NY Giant Linebacker, Jessie Armstead, will visit the Stop & Shop Supermarket located at 859 Route 17 in Paramus on Saturday, October 8th from noon until 1:30 p.m. Armstead will sign autographs and pose for pictures with NY Giant fans. Stop & Shop is the official supermarket of the NY Giants. Armstead played in the NFL for 12 years with the NY Giants, Carolina Panthers and Washington Redskins. He was drafted by the NY Giants in 1993 in the eighth round as a linebacker. He participated in 6 playoff games, was a 5-time Pro Bowler and was named first team All-Pro.
