Daniel Brocco honored by Auntie Anne’s Pretzels


Contest Winner Honored
Auntie Anne’s Pretzels at Paramus Park Mall decided to honor Daniel Brocco, one of 20 Nationwide Finalists in their Perfect Pretzel Contest. Diana Heller, assisted by her father Hank, put together a celebration for young Daniel and his team.

They celebrated with a party held in his honor at the mall. Diana showed a DVD to the young celebrants and fed them with pretzels and drinks. Paramus Mayor James Tedesco tendered the Hellers a commendation to give to Daniel and his parents.

I generally check the rating for Libra’s on the horoscope, although I rarely read the blurb. Yesterday there were 4 stars on my horoscope .. a supposedly very good day.

I took a brief ride out to Coney Island, about a 45 minute ride, where I broke my side rear view mirror. My battery idiot light had been on, but thought that was due to fact that it needed water .. which I replaced.

The institute surveyed nearly 37,000 high school students and found high rates of cheating, lying and stealing.

The weather could not be better for the 6th Annual Kids Safe Halloween Party hosted by Paramus Rescue Squad members. During the day members worked on the final touches for the party, picking up gifts and finishing up decorating the Rescue building for the upcoming event.

Residents were pulling in as the party was slated to start, with the DJ getting "Club Rescue" into the swing of things.

With the launch of the company's new Windows Vista operating system next year, the software company will turn that old slogan on its head, essentially asking parents, "Where do you not want your kids to go today?"

In Vista, the world's largest software company will for the first time emphasize parental controls.  Parents will be able to restrict online activities, limit computer use, control the types of games played and block the use of specific programs.

November Break Teen Scavenger Hunt at Library


During the November teacher's conference break, Paramus teens are invited to a night out at a "Library Scavenger Hunt". On Thursday, November 9th from 6:30pm-8:30pm, kids in grades 5-8 will scavenger for clues throughout the Reid Branch Library, having fun and learning research techniques in the process. Pizza will be served. Sign-ups are ongoing and available at either library.

The first words out of Mayor James Tedesco’s mouth elicited a roar of praises and hallelujahs as well as applause. Jim Tedesco said that he wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes on behalf of Renee, his wife. He announced that Renee was coming along well and he was grateful for everyone’s concern.

Talking before a group of over 400 people at the IBEW Hall on Robin Road , the mayor welcomed everyone, both from the podium and individually as he walked around the capacity filled hall.
