Kids home alone? Set some rules

HOME ALONE
HOME ALONE
How old does Junior really have to be before you can feel safe leaving him at home alone?

He no longer fits into the shopping cart, and he's quite capable of slapping together his own peanut butter sandwich. Your friendly neighbor is always home, spying from behind parted curtains, ready to leap from her front door at the first sign of danger - or at least, the first soul who wanders suspiciously onto your street.

Besides, Junior has got your cell-phone number, and he's not afraid to use it.

Stark County (Ohio) Children Services workers point out that there's no law against leaving your kid home alone or even in charge of younger children.

The Bonding of the Brothers Three

It is a year now since Bob, Marvin and I have met. After 62 years, a phone call brought us together, a phone call made by Alexis Fabrikant, my wonderful, and then unknown, niece. For those that don’t know or remember the history, check the end of this story for the URLs. They still bring tears to my eyes, fond tears! How does one acclimate to new siblings, to a new family, especially when they live hundreds of miles apart and have their own offspring?

Go to the Nets game – Get Disoriented!

My son invited me to take in the Nets game last night and I gladly accepted the invitation. We live in different areas of New Jersey and don’t get to visit with each other that often. Taking that into consideration, we elected to drive from our opposite locations and meet there. Although he offered to pick me up, I factored in the traffic generated in Paramus, especially in the evening. This was justified when returning at 11:30 PM, it took me 5 minutes to travel 200 feet to my driveway. We made arrangements to meet at the Will Call window.
